Assistant Professor Rolanda Mitchell shares how school counselors can be a mental health resource for K-12 students and what to do when families or students are reluctant to use school counseling services. Our certificate program allows students to learn in a flexible environment, with flexible online classwork, without the hassle of traffic and on-campus parking. Students will meet online each week for a 90-minute interactive discussion with the professor, instructors and classmates, in order to stay connected and challenged. We, therefore, provide training, experiences and practice that help all members of our learning community develop knowledge and skills to provide counseling that meets the needs of all of our clients. This program is designed to prepare already licensed counselors to effectively practice play therapy and to earn the Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential from the Association for Play Therapy.
